Watercolor Canada lynx

I have also been trying the watercolor paints from a tube. The only watercolors I had ever tried were just like the ones I had used as a child, where you rub a wet brush across a dry little pad of paint. So these tubes of watercolor paint are pretty exciting and vivid by comparison, even when you aren't using bright colors. I need to play with these watercolors more to figure out what I can do with them. I was trying to keep it loose here and not try to slavishly copy the source photo, however cute it may be.

I want to give full credit to the photographer whose work I am using for inspiration. This photo of a Canada lynx is by Norbert Rosing of National Geographic Creative, and it appears in the "Little Wild Ones: Defenders of Wildlife 2016-2017 Calendar."
