I have been on a little hiatus, but I am back. I don't know why, of all the beautiful photos I have seen recently, this particular one grabbed me and made me want to paint it. Taken by my friend Michele Pucak, the original shows her family member, Fattycat, enjoying an episode of "Planet Earth." In the background is a night-blooming cereus.
I got the proportions wrong and cheated myself of TV screen space, but I could try this one again. Next time: less cabinet, more cat. I definitely need a little perspective work on the bookcase contents and wicker cube. I think what grabbed me was that the conversation between the two cats reminds me of this little gem, with which you might be familiar.
