Jan. 18: Jungle cat: Watch out for the whiskers

My 18-year-old, who rarely appreciates anything I do, saw the owl I painted and said, "You should do a tiger."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because tigers are awesome," he said.

As that qualifies as a bonafide conversation in Teen World, I was pleased to get to work.
I wandered the Internet for a nice tiger face, and found one here. After working on this face, I have to agree. Tigers are awesome.

Also, I learned something. Do the whiskers last (yes, I had already guessed that), and don't do them too heavily. I have that one little errant black whisker that goes up on the left. It wasn't that way in the original photo, and it bothers me.  The nose took forever. I was having trouble figuring out what colors were there and how to apply them.

However, I am happy with this face.
