Enjoying the jolt of color, even though the color is wrong

Every once in a while, I just need a bright jolt of color. Then I saw this purple African daisy and decided to attempt it.

I am happy with this; I think it is pretty, but too pink. The original is much more vibrant… a deep, saturated color that I am having trouble reproducing. Maybe it is my eye? Is it time to get a color wheel?

I might have to attempt this one again.
